Methodology - Analysis & Planning Phase Each section in this diagram depicts the areas of focus that will be addressed, how and what is involved in addressing each area, and the expected outcome of the completed area. The timeline for these activities are not necessarily sequential in order as some activities may be worked on concurrently.
Perhaps two of the most important areas of the entire process are the establishment of key stakeholders and the definition of a common vision. Those individuals and/or groups with a direct interest or involvement are the main driver and the development of a common ground of understanding and direction is critical to the projects’ success.
The expected outcome of the vision definition is a well defined and documented vision as well as a high-level timeline for project completion and communication to stake holders. Moving forward, any change(s) that occurs in the direction of the project scope that affects the vision will most likely have an effect on the timeline for completion. Therefore it is very important to continually reference the vision to keep all parties and project activities on track.
